As we are moving into Spring/Summer 2025, people are generally wanting to refresh their look and hair colour is one of the ways this can be done in a couple of hours in the salon chair. In the salon I have been asked a lot, what are the hair colour trends for 2025?
My take on Hair Colour Trends in 2025 is that colours are transitioning into warmer hues, natural sun-kissed blondes, embracing natural and healthy colours, embracing the grey and wearable redheads. Overall, the main takeaway is hair that looks and feels healthy!

Brunettes have been heavily inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year 2025, which is the gorgeous Mocha Mousse. Think chocolate, coffee & iced latte vibes.. This has started the trend of richer and warmer brunettes. If you are a darker brunette adding a richer hue to your colour will add more dimension and shine to your locks. While lighter brunettes, could add some low-lights for more of a Bronde look, which is a mix of golden brown and blonde giving the appearance of a sun-kissed brunette.
Blondes are moving away from ashy cool tones and into the warmer hues also. Warmer blondes aren’t brassy though, they can still be bright blonde. Think of the Old-Money blonde; golden, creamy or champagne tones. This can be done by switching up the toner you get over your highlights, adding a low-light for some dimension or even going for a more lived-in/sun-kissed blonde application by your hairstylist.
Coppers are moving away from the reddish Cowboy Copper that was a massive TikTok trend. Being replaced with more natural coppers, Celtic inspired golden coppers. Natural, golden and healthy looking, what you would picture natural Scottish or Irish copper hair to be.
2025’s red hair trend is a Cherry Cola Red. A vibrant red with brunette and violet undertones. This has been recently sported by the singer Dua Lipa. Again, warm and rich tones, but healthy and wearable, as it is not an extreme vivid red.
Last but by no means least is embracing the grey.. In recent years a lot of people have been growing out their hair colours to embrace their grey locks. Its not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you are wanting to embrace your roots, or allow some of your greys to show, why not give it a try. Adding highlights/lowlights or semi-permanent toners can help with the process, but it takes time. The actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s hair is a good example of embracing the grey. She has blonde added into her hair, but she also lets her natural grey strands be present around it, she doesn’t have all the grey covered up, adding interest and dimension to her look.
